FAQs
-
What if my postcard arrives late?If your postcard does not arrive within 60 days of your date of sending, please send us an email with your order details and we can refund you. We have a 60 day waiting period to leave room for unexpected delays in delivery due to local postal service issues in the country of destination.
-
How long does it take for the postcard to arrive?Delivery times vary depending on the local postal service of your recipient’s country of residence. This means that once we have sent the postcards based on our batch sending schedule, it is up to the local postal service to get the postcard to its destination. For European and UK addresses, postcards typically arrive within 10 business days. Delivery outside the EU may take up to 21 business days.
-
How do you choose the beneficiaries of your social impact projects?Needs - We prioritize communities that lack particular resources which in turn limits their long-term development. The intention behind our support is to enable the sustainable growth and development of the communities we serve. Values - We only work with communities who uphold the values of SendToGive, aligning most with those that nurture creative expression and joyful resilience despite hardship. Partnerships - SendToGive is based in Germany but works to support beneficiaries in the Philippines. This means that the scope of our work is directly linked to the reach of our trusted local partners in the Philippines.
-
How does the postcard delivery service work?Simply type up your recipient’s complete name and address, include a personalized note, make a secure online payment, and click “SendToGive”. Once your order is confirmed, we’ll print the postcard and send it directly to the recipient’s address following this batch shipping schedule: November 25, December 1, December 8 If you are sending outside the EU and UK, we advise you to send no later than December 1 in order for the postcard to make it in time for Christmas. Each postcard sent directly funds our social impact projects. This Christmas 2024 postcard supports our work to bring solar energy to an indigenous community that lives off-grid. Learn more on our project page.
-
What is SendToGive’s legal status? We are a registered non-profit association (or a gemeinnützige Verein) in Berlin, Germany. We have 3 main non-profit purposes which are aligned to section 52 of the German tax code: To promote art and culture To promote active citizenship To promote international development and cooperation
-
How will I know about the status of the social impact project? We will install the solar energy grid in January 2025. Postcard senders will get an email update that includes report and photos of the installation by March 2025. Postcard recipients can scan the QR code at the back of the postcard which will lead to the project page. The project page will also be updated by March 2025. You can also follow us on instagram @sendtogive for regular updates.
-
What is the actual cost of the postcard and where does the rest of my payment go?4 euros covers the cost of printing, shipping, and digital payment fees for each postcard, while the remaining amount is used to fund our social impact projects. This ensures that your purchase not only sends a thoughtful message to a loved one but contributes to a meaningful cause. For this Christmas season, each SendToGive postcard supports our mission to bring solar energy access to an indigenous community that lives off-grid. Our goal is to raise 7500 Euros for the solar grid purchase, transportation, installation, as well as training the community on basic repair and maintenance. We also plan on creating a short video to document the process. Learn more in our project page here.
